Healing Practices Dancing with the Divine

Healing is a return to Wholeness - a wholeness that includes the sacred divinity of who we really are.   Living into the fullness of our Whole being is each person's birthright.
I began my early career as a Bodywork and Energy healing practitioner - focused on athletics and physical performance, but my journey has taken me inwardly deeper than I ever imagined. Through Art, Writing, Music and Theater, I've delved into the liminal realm of dreams and the psyche to encounter the powerful inner-work of trauma healing. That work brought me face to face with my need for the Divine. It's been a transformative journey that has created a new space for my healing practices to flourish. I have learned to  allow creativity and the Unknown to be present - understanding that these energies are the agents of change and transformation.

I believe fully now in the essential need for Soul recovery work, whereby a new relationship with the psycho-spiritual aspect of our being can be forged and carried into the outer world to facilitate world healing.

Illness manifests in many facets of our lives, and we have but to shift our attention to begin the process of becoming more whole.
Making that shift requires tapping into the absolute uniqueness of each soul's essence. My intention working with clients in whatever realm they chose, is to nurture trust in that True Self essence,  and facilitate the natural restorative flow of Life Force energy within the body, environment and mind.

I believe our innate wisdom is the best guide, and that tuning into that wisdom requires a certain kind of sacred space-making to become present. When we do, we discover that we are so much more than we remember. Together, we learn to dance and facilitate healing or one another, our planet and all of humanity.

I have a broad background of training in Dance and Movement, Conscious Awareness, Anatomy, Kinisiology and Creativity that informs my work and practice. I integrate. a number of modalities into each session or workshop, including Expressive Arts Therapies, Reiki, Massage, Applied Kinisiology, Journaling, Rhythm exercises, Dance and Archetypal Dreamwork, Working together in this way allows for healing and transformation to flow freely.  New  patterns emerge to be nurtured,  anchored and rooted.

New Acadia
Cultural Heritage Arts
 & Stewardship

I am the founder/owner of
New Acadia Music and Dance.  Motivated by a deep belief in the community-building power of music, nature and village life, I founded Happy Hearts Camp at New Acadia Farm in 1995 where guests and campers stewarded an historic hill farm for 17 years. There, I learned to play traditional music and call dances.

That work evolved into off-site production and sponsoring of community events, cultural heritage education, and artist advocacy services throughout the Upper Valley region of Vermont throughNew Acadia Music and Dance.

Now, in its 23rd year, NAMD is the umbrella for my personal and collaborative creative work, which includes performance, writing, teaching and hosting of musicians and guests.  New Acadia Farm has relocated from its former home in Tunbridge to Randolph Center, VT, providing a haven for nurturing my studio and creative work, hosting guests and co-stewarding the agricultural landscape of the local community.

Most recently, I'm delighted to be calling more and more Community Dances, Squares and Contras, and leading workshops to facilitate flow and creative movement on the dance floor. This I know - that my Soul is happiest and most free when dancing. I love sharing this joy and happiness with others.

"Robin brings to her dance leadership a contagious enthusiasm and passion for the joy of movement to music, along with a respect for the unique musical soul of individuals and the diversity of socio-cultural expression.  Whatever the dance figures – be it square dance, long-lines, contras, couples or circles – Russell’s love of dance shines through, encouraging each of us to respond to Music’s call for connection, to allow our hearts to open and our hands to touch."

Co-Creativity
Better Together

The fluidity of inner and outer work is what I enjoy most when collaborating with other Creatives to help manifest a common vision. I believe we are truly better together.

I call this Participatory Creativity.

It implies an intimate relationship with one's own deep inner work, as well as inter-play and dancing with the creative life of another. It's never clear quite what will result, but the process is always energizing and filled with a sense of wonder and awe. This is my happy place, and from whence Love flows most abundantly.

My creative practice was born in Vermont, and has been an exciting journey of music, dance, farming, song-writing, dreaming, writing, and event producing in the rural East-Central watershed region. Here, the hills are alive and robust with creative energy, and I've been blessed to have collaborated with so many inspiring and talented artists, supporters and arts advocates who draw their inspiration from similar influences of both people and nature.

As a way to communicate my services more clearly, I have joined other like-minded practitioners through the Transformational Language Arts Network, and am currently working on projects to attain Certification. Transformational Language Arts is a theoretically grounded foundation of knowledge which I feel best describes the inter-disciplinary nature of my own work, as well as that of my colleagues.
